The new normal has literally changed how businesses are done here in the Philippines.

Business companies are now taking all sorts of precautionary measures in an effort to “flatten the curve” and win this fight against COVID-19.

Here at RENCOR, company president Engr. Archelle B. Baculi gathered the different department heads during the last week of May to map out the safety and health guidelines in preparation for the general community quarantine (GCQ).

June 1 marked the start of Metro Manila under GCQ. RENCOR employees operated in 50 percent capacity each day. Engineers and staff assigned at the office work in alternate shifts.

In consultation with her sister and company board Dr. Aryane Bea, Engr. Baculi has this to say:  Mahirap kasi mag-full blast agad. As per Dra. Aryane, we still have to be careful so strictly implemented na muna ang 50 percent (of employees) na pumasok hangga’t hindi pa nag-flatten ang curve.”

As such, the company made it a goal to provide employees with personal protective equipment (PPEs), along with face masks and/or goggles, face shields, among others. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are also positioned in significant spots as a reminder for employees and even clients visiting alike to disinfect their hands after every transaction.

RENCOR has provided a yellow line to promote social distancing as employees and clients enter the RENCOR premises.
Foot disinfectant awaits people at the gate entrance of RENCOR’s building in Mandaluyong.
The waiting lounge where social distancing is also observed.

Every day, our building is being disinfected with UV lights. We have foot bath and disinfectant used for cleaning. Pati vehicles daily dini-disinfect,” explained Engr. Baculi.

“We also follow the DOH (Department of Health) checklist that includes social distancing. Every employee has to fill up the DOH form daily. And all employees and visitors’ undergo theraml scanning before entering the building’s premises.”

So if you’re asking if clients are safe to visit the RENCOR office for inquiries and other cooling concerns, Engr. Baculi’s answer is a simple “YES”.

“We have to follow (the DOH guidelines) to make RENCOR COVID-19 free even if we really have to spend a lot because we value our employees’ health,” she said.
