The husband-and-wife tandem of engineers Eric Baculi and Archelle B. Baculi have been working hand in hand over the past few years in ensuring that Rencor will continue to provide qualify service and bring comfort and convenience to its valued clients.

No wonder, the Baculi couple have caught the attention of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers after being cited for their contributions in the field of engineering the last two years.

Engr. Ricardo Baculi, currently serving as Rencor’s consultant, was honoured as the Most Outstanding chapter president for 2018 during its annual PSME National Convention at the SMX in Pasay last October.  That award was a huge followup to his Ten Outstanding Mechanical Engineers (management) award in October 2017.

Equally inspiring was Engr. Archelle Baculi’s recognition during the 65th PSME National Convention where she received the Most Outstanding Committee chair National level, along with the Fellow Awardee.

But while these awards gave her a great sense of accomplishment, having earned this alongside her husband Mrs. Baculi would like to see these recognitions from the PSME as a way to inspire the next generation.

After all, at one point in her life, back in the days when she was still a fledgling mechanical engineer, she also had “lodis” or what we call idols, who somehow inspired her to reach greater heights in the field considered more like a “man’s world”.

Under her leadership, Rencor has been of service to some of the country’s biggest companies in providing comfort and convenience—PLDT, TV5, LCC in the Bicol region, SPI in Dumaguete City, just to name a few.

But then again, service is one of Mrs. Baculi’s gifts, a reason why, despite her demanding daily schedule at Rencor, she still makes it a point to give something back to the PSME membership.

“I was so happy when I learned that me and my husband were awardees during the 65th PSME National Convention. I’m just happy serving the PSME membership even if it would mean getting much of my time in the office,” she said.

Today, it is this same drive that she hopes the next generation of Filipino mechanical engineers will possess, stressing that “personal interests should be set aside in order for the general membership to benefit.”

While she still has many good years ahead of her at the company, which her father, the late Engr. Arsenio Bea and mother Corazon Bea established during the early 1980s, Engr. Baculi is not done dreaming for bigger things for RENCOR.

“I would like to have a complete manufacturing plant of A/C (airconditioning) and refrigeration equipment to compete with known brands here in the Philippines and abroad, provided I have at least one of our four sons to help me and my husband so we can transfer our technology to them,” she said.

Her message to the aspiring MEs? “Always put your self interest aside and think instead of how to improve the qualify of Filipino MEs globally.”
